My Story

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, my passion for the arts began on hot summer days, snacking on watermelon and painting in my grandmother's backyard.

My relationship with art further transformed through primary school art shows, the persistent encouragement from educators, and the kindness of gallerists taking their time to teach me the fundamentals.

Painting was no longer simply putting brush to canvas. It became a safe place to freely express myself without the danger of judgement or adversity.

As it does for many of us, the heaviness of life was quick to dim the light I bared as a child. The little girl who sought to "be an artist" when she grew up, was hidden behind the barrier of an angry young woman who had much to prove.

As the desire for freedom and independence grew, so did a reliance on escapism to cope with the challenges of life.

Painting remained a constant companion, but had become an outlet for years of misdirected connections and failed attempts at finding my place in the world.

Still, it kept me tethered to purity and innocence.

Motivated by the exhaustion of disillusion and self-abandonment, I made a promise to myself that I was going to live with purpose. It was time to write a new chapter; one fit to build communities, emphasize the support and service to others, and foster lasting, impactful relationships.

Championing gratitude for all we have, and showcasing the beauty and raw talent around us.

Driven by my inner nature to connect others and inspired by the therapeutic way of art, I modeled a business plan with the principle of uniting communities everywhere through creative expression and commerce.

A mission aiming to honor the purest forms of humanity: connection and creation.

Art plays many roles.

For the viewer; a reminder of a feeling once lost, a wink to an emboldening era, a quiet refuge, a source of inspiration.

For the creator; a vulnerable expression of the heart, an honest reflection of perspective, a call to action, a subtle plea for connection.

We all have stories. We all crave connection and intimacy.

My hope for Artcanon is that we achieve a lasting and undeniable legacy of humanity, inspiration, beauty and togetherness.
